Schaffhausen

So this past Summer my family and I visited the town of Schaffhausen in the German-speaking section of Switzerland. It's a pretty little medieval town. Schaffhausen's main attractions are the Rhine Falls, just outside Schaffhausen and Munot. Munot is a "16th century fortification", and basically is just a really interesting place and it gives you a fantastic view of the entire town of Schaffhausen. Many of the above photos were taken from Munot.
It's not a big town by any means. It's not really a place where many tourists from outside of Germany and Switzerland go, so it's kind of nice to be one of the outsiders. They have fabulous pretzel carts opening out on to the streets and a few department stores too, filled with Lindt chocolate (really hard to resist!). It's a nice town to look around, but my family and I were really happy that it was near other attractions.
Now I wish I had taken more photos!

What have you been up to lately?

I'm a new follower, and was wondering if you would like me to add you to my Blogroll? It would mean that I comment on all of your new blog posts, maybe in return?

  4. I believe the best photographs are the ones that move people, those that plant the excited feeling of take me there, too. That being said, what a beautiful place! I especially love the stills of the rooftops and the deer.
