April Favourites 2016

Whiplash - This is the best movie I've seen in a long time. It's about the pressure to succeed in the world of music and features some pretty intense and amazing drum solos. It's on the UK/ie Netflix for certain, but if you're in other regions, I'd definitely suggest to check to see if it's there or on any other streaming service you might use. It's definitely worth the watch.

Delciously Ella - My family and I have been trying to adopt a more healthy lifestyle recently, and a big part of that revolves around food. So, when my auntie got me the Deliciously Ella book, I was eager to try out a few recipes. Each and every one that I've tried has been extremely tasty and easy to make. Everything in the book is vegan and gluten free to the best of my knowledge. I also find the recipes are resilient and up for experimentation. Ella has a blog too, where she posts many of her recipes online.

On the Beach - This is a book I read recently. I found it both moving and thought provoking, as it poses an interesting question; how would we all act if we knew the end of the world was coming? It's set in Australia following a nuclear explosion. Both one of my sisters and my dad have read and loved it, so there's no going wrong here.

Threads and Metal - This is a really cute etsy shop that sells hand stamped metal jewellery and other things such as friendship braceletes. I have a couple of pieces myself, and would thoroughly advise recommend you put in an order!

Pomodoro Time Management App - There are a varity of apps under this guise, but this one is the best I've found so far. It's basically just a really helpful and satisfying way to get through a study session or any pile of work. It helps you to use your time effectively, and gives you breaks as long or short as you choose.

Nikon 50mm Lens -  My seriously cool brother-in-law is also a Nikon user, and allowed me to try out a couple of his lenses. I've heard loads about 50mm lenses in general, but never tried one. And now I really want one for myself! The shots above are taken with this lens, and I think they came out really well!

Tip: If you haven't done so already, I'd keenly suggest you turn the bass booster on your phone/music device to get a really nice sound. It's so cool to be able to hear the bassline (though this is coming from a cellist...!)

So, have you any recommendations for me?
